Since 2016, Yoga Baum has been offering the Louisville community everything from teacher training and classes to workshops and private lessons. Creating a meaningful experience for each person who steps foot in the studio is what drives Laurie and her team in everything that they do.

Private Yoga Lessons 

Learning any new skill or form of movement is intimidating enough, especially in a big group setting. Private sessions can be a great first step in becoming more comfortable with the movements, technique, and offer more individualized attention with the instructor. It’s all about having fun and gaining confidence! Yoga Baum offers both virtual and in-person private yoga lessons in Louisville, KY.

Approach to Injuries and Restrictions 

The stress and anxiety of daily life, particularly when compounded with the strain of high intensity exercise, can exacerbate existing injuries or can stir up new issues. While yoga and functional movement are considered to be beneficial, the instructors at Yoga Baum are trained to seek out a practice to best suit your needs. Private sessions are particularly helpful for those suffering from injury so your instructor can focus all their attention on form and offer modifications when necessary.  

Goal Setting 

Having purpose and direction within your practice will keep you engaged and motivated to show up for yourself, above anyone else. Think of your Yoga Baum teachers as your support system on your journey to better mental and physical health. They will listen to you and adjust the practice to your specific needs, communicate an effective approach, and provide feedback to fine tune even the most advanced yoga practice. 

Mindfulness 

In addition to yoga, there are offerings for meditation, mindfulness consultations, and reiki energy healing. Physical movement is just one piece of the puzzle, and Yoga Baum wants to support you in all stages of your journey

She puts a great deal of thought into the practice created for me every week. The practices are tailored to my needs and what I want to focus on as well, depending upon any physical issues such as back pain or tight hamstrings I have at any given time. What I find extremely beneficial is that my horse riding continues to improve in ways I had not anticipated. My balance and ability to use specific body parts while riding, of critical importance when riding horses in dressage or jumping, is enhanced in ways I had never imagined. Alice DiSanto: With a mindset and a coveted entry ticket, I was determined to celebrate my first running of the New York City Marathon by doing it again 25 years later. Standing between me and the goal of 26.2 miles was my right knee. Enter Laurie LeCompte and yoga – catalysts to my dream. The year before meeting Laurie, I had my third knee cartilage surgery. A minor procedure in the big scheme of things, but there were complications requiring extensive rehabilitation. I rolled into my therapeutic regimen acupuncture. Meridian Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine recommended Laurie, a runner herself, who too had used her yoga discipline for self-healing to improve her gait and supportive muscles and tendons. 

Yoga was never my thing. Strength training, cardio-conditioning, and stretching made up my fitness routine, but yoga was never considered. However, everything I was doing was not getting me where I needed to be. Laurie and Yoga Baum took me there. Laurie brought me through customized yoga conditioning specific to my knee with one-on-one lessons. Focus on the hips, balance, and restorative breath-centered positioning provided the missing piece to my fitness routine. 

Two more marathons later, I am a Yoga Baum super fan. I can’t get there as often as I desire, but Laurie left me empowered to know and understand how to bring the discipline of yoga with me anywhere. The tailored routine that she designed for me is something I do today. Life adds years, yet it should not have to add age. Yoga Baum keeps me hitting the road and feeling strong every step of the way.
