Explore this culturally rich city while also digging deep into intuitive connections.

Join Laurie and Megh for this exciting and mystical yoga retreat in New Orleans, LA. Our group will be staying in the newly transformed Maison Grace in the neighborhood of the Faubourg Marigny, New Orleans, right next to the French Quarter. The space is equipped with multiple lounging areas, a large backyard with a crystal-clear pool, a rooftop deck, full kitchen, and laundry facilities. You will experience an exciting and engaging itinerary filled with yoga, intuitive work and art, local and culturally enriching excursions, and community and self connection. With the entire space to ourselves, we will have time to both connect with the group and also experience downtime and reflection in quiet nooks.

Lodging

All of our retreat participants will stay at the Maison Grace. Maison Grace is an adaptive reuse transformation of a mid century warehouse in the neighborhood of the Faubourg Marigny, New Orleans. The building features soaring roof line ceilings, exposed steel trusses and walls of energy efficient glass. The one-time 6200 square foot commercial warehouse has been repurposed to accommodate retreat groups like ours. In addition to the beautiful rooms, there are cozy lounging spaces on each floor, a rooftop deck, outdoor pool, outdoor gazebo, and outdoor lounge space. Schedule, Yoga, Meals, and Excursions

New Orleans has so much to do! Whether you’re into the spooky scene, Jazz, food, or swamp activities, you can find it nearby. We have excursions built into our program, but there will be enough downtime for you to also venture out on your own and explore your individual interests. We will have a balanced yoga session in the morning that includes both invigorating and calming elements. During our afternoons and evenings, we will work with our intuition through contemplative and artistic means, go on group excursions, and have some downtime for hanging out on the property or exploring the city. Our location is within walking distance of many exciting New Orleans attractions. Two of our dinners will be planned for the group and served in house, and two of the dinners will be on your own so that you can get a taste of the amazing culinary scene in New Orleans. Group excursions include a ghost tour, visit to a fortune telling/crystal shop, and a swamp tour.

Meet Your Teachers, Laurie and Megh

Laurie LeCompte

Laurie has been teaching or coaching since she was a teenager. She has always been attracted to athletic activities and relished the community that came with being part of a team. Laurie has volunteered as a rowing coach and has also been an assistant cross country coach.

Laurie found yoga as a way to incorporate more varied joint movements that caused less repetitive stress. She was also looking for more peace and chill in her life. Yoga was the perfect complement to the more intense activities she practices.

After falling in love with the yoga practice and practicing for several years, Laurie completed her 200 hour training in Ashtanga Vinyasa at Infinite Yoga in San Diego, California. Laurie also completed 300 hours in advanced yoga studies at the Asheville Yoga Center. She has specialized training in pre- and post-natal yoga, restorative yoga, yoga with HIIT, yoga for seniors, yoga nidra, trauma sensitive yoga, yoga for cancer, and therapeutic elements of yoga.

Laurie also loves reading Tarot for her clients and has explored various outlets of intuitive expression. She helps her students connect with their intuition through teaching meditation, Tarot, and other mindful and reflective practices.

Laurie’s love of teaching and sharing yoga with her students inspired her to create Yoga Baum, a yoga studio and school in Louisville, KY, in 2016. Laurie lives happily in Louisville with her husband, Jordan, her ferrets, Lars, Karl, Lucy, and Hilde and her parrot, Pete.

Megh Zahrndt

Megh was introduced to yoga at the age of 17, the same time she fell in love with photography. Her pursuit of yoga has taken her all over the world; two of her greatest passions. She has completed a 500-hour certification in Modo Yoga, in Nicaragua and an additional 200-hour certification in Anusara Yoga. Megh hold certifications in aerial and restorative Yoga as well, and she often weaves myths and stories into her classes, in what she called Storytime Yoga. She loves to travel and has practiced yoga in Japan, Germany, Costa Rica and Iceland.

Outside of her yoga life, Megh has degrees in Anthropology and Photography. When she is not teaching yoga, she tutors children through her business, AcademyMegh, and also runs a photography business, M3ZStudios. She has a soft spot for animals, art, mythology, and science fiction.
