taught by Laurie LeCompte

This workshop is for students and teachers who are seeking to deepen their knowledge and practice. This workshop can be used as continuing education, and also counts towards Yoga Baum’s 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training.

In this workshop, trainees will learn how to guide students who are experiencing physical and emotional pain. There will be discussion and lecture on common causes of physical and emotional pain, as well as the science behind pain. Neuroscience, movement patterns, and trauma will all be topics of discussion. Trainees will learn how to navigate injuries in their classrooms through approaches that have been shown help students manage pain, by introducing new movement patterns and body awareness. Trainees will also learn how to offer modifications and options to students experiencing physical and emotional pain and will learn how to use language and demonstration in their classroom that is empowering, not limiting.
